I lived in Durango for three years while in College. While they have deer...the sheer density can not even compare to the Hill Country of central Texas.

Yeah, but that was a LOOOOOONG time ago, Cody. Al Gore's man-made global warming has pushed them north into the Durango area now.

I've been over these roads many times, is a good ride. JAT...I had toyed with the idea of sponsoring a rally out of Durango, do the trip up to Ouray (You-ray, accent on the ray) then back down Dolores Canyon. Trip over to Chama, New Mexico (home base of the railroad pictured) would be another ride. Fall is a good time with the Aspen turning color, but is a good ride any time of the year. There is a campground on the north side of Durango that is biker friendly (I've stayed there a few times) and many hotels - motels in the area as well. Any interest in such a rally? Let me know.

            You've seen the movie, Jerry.

"Plan it... and they will come.." Or something like that..

I have to wonderthough... with there still being snow around there in June... you'd take a chance of being called on account of snow if waiting too long in the fall. The roads to Ouray get your attention when dry. On two wheels with white stuff on the ground?? Well.. maybe on a dare.. lol.

Oh, BTW Jerry, I would do all of a ride like this on the Venturer............as all of this riding is where it all started for me and the Venturer. Rides, distances, and time are all permanent in memory...................so if you need to access the memory or need any assistance............wouldn't have to follow this time....lol. Brant.
