  • 150 miles, 90 degrees, 0 clouds.

I met up with TrainZz yesterday for a poker run here in Hutch. It was toasty warm out and no clouds breeze or any sort of protection form the elements.

We were getting ready for the ride when we met a guy on a Kaw Meanstreak and chatted with him a bit. He was excited since he had a 650 maxim for quite some time before he traded it in on the Meanstreak. He would soon learn the error of his ways.

We headed out of South Hutch headed to Bobz Bikz in Kingman and were doing a nice clip of about 80. We passed a couple Harleys for posterity and noticed a headlight getting ever closer in the rear view mirrors.

As we turned on to 54 from 17, Lee had me take lead. Headed west bound at about 80, the guy on the Meanstreak zipped past us. I didn't take the bait, but Lee did. It wasn't long until Lee was obviously gaining on the streak, and I decided to catch up. I finally got close probably doing 135, and noticed Lee backing off and punching it again trying to get the streak to play some more, but he must have thought 120 was enough.

When we rolled into Kingman, the Streak rider got off nad made a bowing motion to Lee. As we talked he said that he just didn't have anymore to give. His top end was 120 and his scoot just didn't have anymore snort. We had figured he kinda got chickenitis, but that wasn't the case. He was a really cool guy named Scott, and we all ganged up and took over the badboy section of the poker run.

Had a great time, we all look like lobsters. After the run they served some excellent BBQ, and had a not so excellent band playing. Gave away prizes. Lee got some insulated socks to replace the doo rag that flew away at about 115, and a chrometastic license plate bracket. I got a $25 gift cert to Bobz Bikz. Did I mention we all look like lobsters? Lee has a sunburned head, since he lost his doo rag. Our wives were laughing at us crying and eating BBQ.

    Here are the guys:

      Slo Mo...

That's one of those 4 wheeler seat pads that Trbig found at his local WalMart in Ada, Ok. area... I wish any of the ones around me sold 'em... they look cool and Tod says his really helps.

Those bars are the original buckhorns. Scorned by many but cherished by me. They just fit me.

            In my defense

boiled crawdad here. Just thought I would send a warning out to ya'll. Most do-rags only have a top end of 115 mph. Trust me on this, since the aforementioned do-rag was the third I've lost this spring. Ivan suggested that perhaps I could find one with a chin strap.................I let him live.

It was a great ride. The second stop was at one of Kansas' largest Harley dealers. In case the picture Ivan took doesn't show it, I was wearing a Bob Jones rally shirt. (evil grin). For some reason, both Ivan and Scott mentioned more than once that I seem to be the one that will start the sh!t storm. Not true. Honest.

I gotta be honest though, the last thirty miles was tuff on this old man. But that was yesterday. Ready to go again as soon as I fuel up.

                errrrr

Shoot cat, that's easy to answer.

Step 1. Look out the door at a perfect day.
Step 2. Check the weather forecast. 85-90, no wind, no rain.
Step 3. Walk past skid lid in garage.
Step 4. Start Motorcycle, drop into gear, ride off.

                Simplicity itself!

Yup.. I can see Russ now. Nuthin' on but the speedo, a pair of boots, and big ugly riding goggles.. pulling up to stop lights and looking right at the people in the cars next to him and nodding while he racks the straight pipes of his thundering 88 cubic inch motor.... big $hit eating grin on his face....

                          Good Heavenly Days!

I was trying to find a pic that would do this thread justice... but I just couldn't... I did, however, find a site that gave me an entirely different perspective on Speedos...
                          he he he

Yes... a Speedo can do this for you
(okay... it worked for me anyway)

The banjo music keeps turning into 70s porn music in my head for some reason...
