  • Around Lake Tahoe in 80 miles.

Well, took the new bike for it's first big ride today, decided to take the loop all the way around Lake Tahoe, NV/CA. A ride I would well recommend to anyone else.

First thing that hit me was a sudden climate change. Heading up Highway 50 from Carson City, not even a mile up the road, about a 10 degree change all at once. Felt really nice though under the leather. Views were amazing, especially high above Emerald Bay. Saw a lot of other bikes there, guess I'm not the first to realize what a great ride spot this is.

Only bad thing I noticed were gas prices. I was lucky enough to make it back down to Carson with fuel to spare. It was 50 cents cheaper in the valley.

Which usually is a difference of less than $2 on a bike for a fill up. I don't sweat the gas prices on my bike..

I would love to come riding over there in that area sometime.... so many places I want to go. This dang work sure gets in the way of all the personal things I wanna do!!
Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.

You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!

I usually don't either, but when you're making payments on said bike...

And when fall comes around, hook up with the guys that come out this way. I'm hoping to get into the ride again as a "former member" type thing....

I spent a good deal of my adolesence living in the South Lake region (about an hour West on 50). I would love to get back to that area with my bike.
I know this, because Tyler knows this.

          BlkMage,
We are trying to put together a "Central Coast" run this year. If you do NOT mind cats, I have a "spare" room with a hide-a-bed that is open. I'm trying to buy a bike as I type, since "Daily Ride" locked up the transmission on the way home from Tahoe. I am rebuilding an engine for the '78, and after that I'll work on Daily Ride.

Please let me know if and when that ride comes together I would like to try to make that. I am not too far away.

Cats are great, have 2 myself.

The real question is: Would you guys mind a "Kat" on your ride? lol

I would really be up for that though, especially since I work 4 days a week now. I'll try to keep up here more often, just got back from San Fran with the g/f, she'll be here another 2 weeks.

Thanks. I'll move the discussion over there.
