  • West-Central AZ SuperBowl Sunday Ride

Diary Date: Sunday, January 26, 2003 (Super Bowl Sunday)
Location: West and North of Prescott, Arizona.
Conditions: Sunny, temps in low 60s.
Mileage: 170 with routing through Prescott on return leg.
Special Notes: Pick up reprints at grocery store on way home for SWMBO.

Note: Photo 2 taken on an earlier trip over same route.

Leaving Ponderosa Park via Indial Creek Road...back way out to
    Hwy 89 South.

    4 miles from home...Hwy 89 twisties.

Roadway at far right is downhill traffic, lower left lane is uphill traffic.

Heading north on Joshua Tree parkway. How scenic can this be to a
mid-west boy? Better than straight desert I suppose....can hear the
    laughter now...

An Honest-to-God Joshua Tree. Weird. Tree trunk with spiney leaves.

Pine needles on steroids? These things double as branches and leaves.

Not much rain in this country. Easier to let water wash over road and
clean up afterwards than to put in culverts.

Heading back on homward leg. Up and down hills, some twisties,
some scenic (?) views...don't forget the reprints!
