I put it in quotations because it was only a 12 mile run round trip but I was riding, eating bugs, and fighting the wind like a pro! I still feel more like a passenger than a pilot but I'm learning. My previous experience is entirely limited to under 15 mph at the safety course on a little 250 so of course this is a big difference.
After much work on the bike (battery, coils, pickups, carbs, fuses) it was finally ready for a road test. My first one was about 3 PM. Nice and sunny. Just went around the block of my residential neighborhood. Second trip was about 3 mile circle including a little rubbing with other cars at a big intersection and a ride through our park on the way back. Last trip was 12 miles round trip down a little country highway. Got up to 70 once but my eyes were watering up pretty bad and it was beyond dusk so I mainly kept it at 55. Bike runs smooth. Plenty of power and quick response. (except for an idle issue, meaning it won't come back from 4K rpms).
I could be happier but not for the moment. I'm proud of myself for sticking to it and I couldn't be more grateful for everyone's help here on the site. I'm excited and can't wait for another reason to ride, or do I need a reason at all? Hmmm.....
