XJ1100 Seat cover

I'd like to give B&H specialtys an A++++ for a great product. I ordered a new seat cover for the XJ1100. They list for $69.95 . It only took a few days to get and came with installation instructions. I couldnt be happier with the fit, feel and ride of it.

That looks really good!!
Is the quality quality of material good? I'm debating if I want my Dad's wife to replicate the seatcover on the LG or find a quality replacement. The LG (midnight special) seat has a different profile (more pronounced 'step') than other specials. It has the additional padding glued to the cover so a regular special cover works.

Pat, I think it's as good or better material than the original. I'll confess that i didn't install it myself though. I took it down to my upolstry guy to do that. When I called him beforehand, he was a little mad that I didn't have him make one. When he saw the cover, he changed his tune and commented that he wouldnt be able to do a copy anywhere close to that price. In the end I've got a great seat that makes the bike look alot better than before.
I see that they do make a cover for your LG. I think you'll be very happy with B&H's work if you choose them.-Tom.

I see they do have a different part # for the LG. I'll have to look into this.
I got a quote from a local upholsterer that does 'high-end' (show) work. They wanted $300.00 for a true leather cover that was itentical (step profile and double-row stitching) or custom stitching as desired.
My Dad's wife would do it for me in naugahyde for cost of matierial. She does custom upholstery for airplanes.
It's nice to have options (sometimes).
I currently have a JCWhitney cover which is so-so, but much better than the torn original.

B & H Specialities.

They are located on Simpson Ave, or is it Yates St ( I see it so often that I don't really pay attention to it) in Hurst, Tx. The town I live in. Their shop is not far from my house, and just two streets over from where my wife grew up. Earlier this year when I aquired Foster Child, the seat had a seam that needed stitching, so I called them to ask if they could repair it, and they refused to stitch it up for me. They would be more than happy to sell me a new cover though. I don't need a new cover, just repair one seam. Anyway, I have seen some of their work before, and it is good. I'll just take the seat cover to an uphoulstery shop and get it fixed.

I just put one of their covers on "daily ride", to get by while the custom seat gets rebuilt. I am happy with the looks, and fit. I put the cover on myself, and it took all of about 1 hour.
I would buy another cover from them, if I wanted a "stock" seat. Material was nice, as I ordered the "top end".
