I was wondering if anyone of you had used a throttlemeister cruise control. I'm considering one. Thanks

Throttle
Hey DD... This forum is great, I just joined and am excited about getting involved, hence this is my first post here.
The thing on my throttle is a spring loaded lever that can lock down the throttle. I think it was called a cruise control back in the day. I used one quite alot going over the continent back in the 80's. But personally I have one on my XS11 now and haven't used it as I think It's a little dangerous, just my opinion.

They're not dangerous unless you use it at the wrong time. I've had Vista cCuise on all of my bikes and never had a problem. BTW, they don't actually lock the trottle, just give it enough friction to hold it, you can still move the throttle with it 'locked'
Examples of using it at the right time:
-cruising on highway and need to hit the right hand reserve.
-resting the right wrist on long trips.
Example of using it at the wrong time: anywhere in traffic!

I've used the Vista Cruise throttle "locks" for years. As said previously, they're great when used properly.
I recently added a Throttle Rocker (the newer kind, with the velcro strap to allow for much easier installation/removal), and it's REALLY nice for long-distance riding over hilly terrain that makes the Vista Cruise not a good option. Having both is the best of both worlds, and for about $35 total, pretty darn cheap.Tom Hunt
