After 6 months of use, I can now report that the #DE 1636 clear coat from Duplicolor IS GAS RESISTANT.
Numerous splatters from fill-ups have wiped off, leaving no blemishes.
This product is part of their High Heat line. Some precautions if you're planning to use it:
-It is a Laquer, so don't spray it over enamels, it eats enamel.
-It will also eat factory clear coats so don't spray over your factory finish.
-It is NOT brake fluid resistant. Don't ask how I know!
I've got the best results with a fresh base coat of laquer and two to three coats of this clear. It rubs out nicely and waxes to a high luster.
