  • Rain Gear

My wife and I just picked up a great raining riding suit at Costco for $65 each.

The suit is called "All Weather Suit" by Rockwater Design. The suit is a red rubberized set of semi-bib pants and full length jacket. They seem to be very well built. The collar of the jacket makes an excellent helmet seal. Rockwater Designs is out of Concord Ontario.

Next time it rains, we are going for a ride (happens a lot in the PNW).

I just picked up the same suit. It is a foul weather suit for sailing, and should work great on the bike. I can also use it on Monterey bay, once I get a new engine installed in a friends sailboat.

For the same reason that Navy ships still have a mast?

Last winter I bought a set of ski jacket and pants from JC Penny on sale 60% off. The jacket is so warm that, it had better be damn cold out or I cook in it. The pants need long handle skivies to keep warm. I ride behined a Vetter faring and I say warm and dry with this combo.

because not all sailers are good!!!
The dock for the boat is at the end of a channel, with three 90 degree turns. We have sailed it in and out once, but it's MUCH safer and easier under power. Just think coasting down a twisty road, and going up hill in the middle of it. Then add the 18 wheeler on your butt, and you get the idea.

The guys I ride with like Frog Togs. They retail for about $60 and can be compressed into a small package, so they can be carried with you to use IF it rains.
