I came accross this product through a friend of mine who treated his 1972 XS650 tank with it. I needed something non agrassive to remove rust from a 1930 Rolls Royce vaccuum tank, the stuff works wonders!
It only eats the rusted metal and does not touch the good metal. Works on ferrous and non ferrous metals, so safe on aluminum too.
Look at the pix on their website, it works that well! Downside is the price: $55 for a quart or $100 for a gal., BUT it can be reused many times and has a shelf life of 3 years. Good investment for a resto project IMHO.
Safe on paint and plastics, non toxic, biodegradable...
