  • Street Skinns Upholstery

Just got my seat done by Wade Cotton at Street Skins Upholstery. He is a local shop but does a lot of online business.

He used my stock seat pan and used all new foam. The center of the drivers area is a gel pad covered by memory foam.

He can do just about anything you can imagine. What looked like hundreds if not thousands of choices/combinations of covering material. Many different colors of stitching.

His work is top of the line. You can see lots of pictures of his work on his Facebook page, GSXR forums, and Ruckus forums.

    Now for my seat.

    Noice very noice !!!!!

    How many $ ?

I'd like to change my 81 MNS to more like a 79 Special, this thing feels like a 2x4 after a couple hours.

I spent all day on the seat of my 79, no problem.

He first quoted me $200 but it turned out to be a lot more work than he had originally planned. But even after all the extra hassle and a very long day (started on this first thing in the morning and worked on it until 8 tonight) he stuck with his regular price.

I have no idea what a modified price will be now that he knows how much more work is involved in these seats compared to a modern street bike or scooter.

One of the big differences he explained to me is the new seats pans are plastic. Basically stretch the fabric over, glue it and run some staples in. Our 11 seat pans are metal with spikes that hold the material. Much more work.

A good chunk of the price is the gel pad. I think that stuff is $50-75 per square foot. I figured if I was going to have a new seat I was going to go all out.

            Very awesome!

Are you going to do something with the one sidecover and the tail cowl paint?
