I know some have purchased products from their site(including me) and it used to be a no-no to tell them it was for an XS 1100 but anything you wouldn't buy from them again? Now if you get on their site it says XS 1100 on some of their products.I bought 2 float bowl gaskets from them and they are not OEM quality.I replaced 1 gasket with theirs but i think it is causing my leaking issue. When i put my new OEM Yamaha gasket on its not leaking now.Lesson learned i guess.

Fairly recently I bought the 'rubber' boots that cover the clutch and brake handles, well they came and they weren't exactly rubber. They were more of a vinyl type material. I'm not really complaining, because they are certainly better then none (or the crappy ones I had on there before).
I guess the price should be the big indicator of quality. If it's too good to be true (from a distributor/dealer) then it probably is.

I've bought plenty from Mikes in the past but recently the quality of parts seems to have diminished so I try to find things elsewhere, JMHO

Well the gaskets were causing a leak and i bought new float valves that were good so I'm divided on their quality parts.

The boots are the only thing I've got from Mikes, like you said, not bad, but a bit vinyl looking...

I keep wondering where MikesXS gets their stuff. When I search around for parts I don't seem to find too many options for some things. But the low and behold Mikes XS has it. You'd think that some of these things would pop up in search recults for us as well as them.
"The Hooligan" XJ1100, Virago Gauge Pods, Screaming Eagle Mufflers, K&N Filter, hand made rear fender, side covers, and solo seat, round bar conversion, small headlight, tail light, and cat eye turn signals, chip fuses, rewired the right way.

www.partzilla.com. You can't beat OEM and they sell first quality aftermarket stuff. There used to be a list of unacceptable Mike's XS parts on the 650wiki, but it hasn't been updated in a while.

You get what you get from Mike's XS because of what most of us are willing to pay. I'm glad they're there, helping me keep my bikes on the road. I buy OEM when I can.

Well looking at the gasket it looks like cheap cardboard crap and no wonder it leaks down the sides of the body.It only does this while the bike sits.

+1 on that marty! I just discovered PartsZilla myself. They are the sister site of Boats.net and if you use the promo code 'meetsister' you'll get 5% off your zilla order.
I like to shop around and find who's got the best price.
Just today, I bought parts from both because one site had it for less and the other didnt' have it at all.
Plus if the order is less than $10 then shipping is only $1.75 (either site)

650wiki.org. You should see the link about Mike's. It is not up to date. Most of the stuff that comes from there is good or they wouldn't stay in business. They're gaining a reputation for standing behind their products. I am active in the XS650 community.

I've dealt with a few of their products before and like said on here previously you pay for what ya get. I cant comment about their tapered XS pods because I haven't got to test them since I got them but I hear they don't do so well in rain Mikes XS is definitively a good site though.
