  • Halogen Driving Lights

A very nice, simple mod for less than $25. I picked them up at Wal Mart. They work great, very bright. no complaints so far. I had to substitute in a few connectors as this kit is intended for automotive uses rather than motorcycle. The wires I have ran along the down tubes have shown no heat damage or stress. The switch is a waterproof model I had to buy at a marine dealer, or auto parts store (don't quite remember) it was a little pricey ~$3 or so.

I did have to drill a slightly larger hole in the bracket so the bolt for my highway pegs would fit through there. That and the wiring substitution was the only thing I changed.

    Hey Dick,

Are those the 35 watt H3's or the 55 watt H4's? Just for folks information!

I put a set of the PILOT brand 55 watt ones, but I have full LED conversions to help run them. Mine are mounted a bit higher, just below my headlight.

That green glow is pretty friggin awesome man! I have no idea what the wattage etc is, they're the $20 wal mart special. I'll try to get over there tomorrow and snap a pic of the box and get the specs. I just thought that with them mounted where I had them it looked pretty clean.

Watch out running them in town!!!! I had a pair of 55w. on my G and the charging system would not keep up in town and was marginal at highway speeds. In town I would run em and the bike would just die at stoplights, no kickstarter on a G.

Those green lights are very nice! Do you know however if they're legal to run on the road? It seems many extra option colored lights are frowned upon by law enforcement.
            Very nice through.

Those look pretty badass especially with the siren.

In all seriousness, I have been looking to put a set of driving lights on. The stock headlight just doesn't seem to throw enough photons at 70 with a new moon. I even put in a supposedly extra bright bulb, but it didn't help much. I like your install, and may try to figure something like that out myself in the future.

you have me and T.C. mixed up mine has the lights mounted low on the case guard bars while his is just below his windshield. I finally did get my siren hooked up properly though, don't know if I mentioned that or not.

No, I like the down low look. I was looking at mine and I think I could possibly mount them on the two bolts that the front motor mount bracket is attached with. It would put them in nearly the same place as yours.
