  • Gunk Hydroseal II

If you are cleaning/rebuilding carbs and have a little money (around $80 shipped) and some DIRTY carbs, like mine were; I'd suggest buying the smaller kit version. You can one carb and all its insides in the basket and leave it to soak as long as you need. I soaked the first one I did overnight, but found with the other three that only an hour or two was necessary.

Does it eat rubber like the other carb cleaners do?

Product info sheet says NOT for use on plastics and rubber.

That's a definite yes on eating rubber! I removed all the rubber pieces first, then you just dip in the tray - maybe swish around a couple times while it's in there - and you got a clean carb.

          Hey JMyers,

Did you also remove the butterfly shaft seals as well??

IF NOT, then you didn't remove ALL of the rubber and you may end up with some severe vacuum leaks!
