  • Tachometer

I noticed my tach was sticking so I took it apart. Pry the flange so the glass will come out and everything else comes out with a screwdriver. I found soft sponge rubber inside it had deteriorated and gotten stuck to the axle of the instrument's needle. I put it back together and it was still stuck after a couple of days.

    Place where sold

Electronic stores usually have lubricant that won't damage electronic parts. The inside of the tach is full of transistors and like parts. The black paint of the dial dissolved when I used carb cleaner so I had to repaint the dial green but, it looks really good.
The local bike shop can't find a good replacement tach so I think $10 is worth it for this part. I sprayed about the whole can through the hole in the back of the tach. [The spray comes with a small plastic tube.] After about a week the needle started working again.

This is also good. I searched everywhere for a brake rotor and had to salvage one from the dump in Stanton, California. Everybody said they were not available. Merriam Cycles I noticed this place now has high performance rotors to fit xs1100.
