Need Information

Can someboby tell what model and size bike from serial number.
It is a Yamaha made 5/81 serial number 5k5-01265. It looks like xj maxim 4 cly. I know it is not a xj1100 by the serial no. I am thinking 750 or 850 but not sure. All the emblems have been taking off and bike repainted. I checked Yamaha site but could not find what i was looking for. Could be 81 or 82 model. This is one nice bike and i want to buy it but need to know what i am getting.

That's an '82 XJ550. Verify displacement, should be stamped on cylinders in front middle near exhaust.
