  • Best Hoodlum bike

While I still think the XS11 Standard can be made to look like a mean Hoodlum bike, I just love this bike and think it is the ultimate "Hoodlum"

    The Triumph Rocket III Classic.

Since the Valkyrie's are a dying breed (that's what I ride now) and there are VERY few bikes out there that i like or that are worth $.02. and I REFUSE to have anything to do with a lame'O V-twin, this may be my next bike.

    "Rocketman!"

Come on in, Wayne, we have three on the floor. (one black, two red) They're monstrous! Had to put 500 miles on one to use it as a demo. I was stuck behind a truck on the highway. Went to pass him, and went from 65 to 104mph in the length of a semi. Other mech here was riding wheelies down the road.
Early models had tachs that would smoke and then fry, but that was fixed. Fuel gauge is inaccurate, but there's a computer reset for that.
Only had one come back. Clown shattered the tranny gears. Was a real dick to it... rear tire was bald, showing belts, and had less than 900 miles on it. Guess you can abuse anything to death if you're stupid enough.
    Nice machines!

Yep. Ridden on 'O those myself.

Absolutely kicks butt! The Valk's smoother, and has a lower CG (the R3 is noticibly more top heavy than the Valk).

We're just spoiled by the Valks is all....

I've got room in the garage for another machine....the Valk's paid for....Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm......

I was working for a while at our triumph importer. Couldn't meet the demand. People went gaga for them. Didn't ride it tho, but it definetly is another XS. To the point of uselessnes IMHO.
I'd prefer the valk. But then again... I'd prefer a V2. (but not a hardley or one of the derivatives).

I fell in love with the new Triumph Tiger, I read about it in "Ride Metric" then I went and looked at it at the local dealer. It's a dual purpose monster that still makes me believe that I may one day get back out on the dirt. I like the upswept exhauste for wet riding and the rest of the bike is supposed to be watertight also. Guess this reply is kinda useless without a picture, but I'm kinda techno-deficent, sorry...... Oh well, I don't have the ten grand nor do I want another monthly payment so I will stick with "Jackel" for now, the best and most fun bike I've owned so far.

                Hey Dan,

Photos here aren't too hard, just find a picture shown on the NET, right click and copy the PROPERTIES=URL location for that web page photo, and then either click on the IMG button in a message, and paste that URL into the popup box, or just type the VB code with brackets [ img ]url tag info here[ /img ],
(I added spaces so the codes would show)
and the photos will appear like so!

                  Thanks T.C.,
I'm going to try to post pics of my bike soon. I'm switching to SBC DSL sometime this week and then I will try some new things.

                  Happy New Year to all!!!!!

.. i have no need for a bike that weighs more than my xs11, i dont care how fast it is.. if i had to have a brit bike these would be my idea of cool hoodlums.. (i'm only kidding myself with this statment, i want to own one of every bike ever made, Jay Lenno is the man, if it has two wheels, i love it!)

.. i got to ride a brand new one of these to day.. it was pretty cool!.. the bike was lite and flicky(it felt real easy to throw into the corners), it handled real good.. the motor was kinda torquey, and it had more balls than i expected and was way smoother than any parallel twin i have ever ridden before.. it was no XS11 but it was a different kind of fun.. i would own one
