  • Non running bike binge

In the last year I picked up pretty cheaply the following; 1977 Yamaha XS750, 1985 Suzuki GS1150, 1980 Yamaha XS1100 Special...all long time outside kept non runners. Making good progress on all, posting pictures soon.

The first step is admitting that you have a problem

Can't wait to see some pics!

The 750 triple came from New Mexico, not running but very little rust

That's a clean 750! How long was it sitting? If there's no clue like an inspection sticker the tire date codes will give an idea.

Wish mine looked that good instead of the neglected ol lump that it is. What you going to do with that fairing? It would be a wall hanger for me for sure since I'm not into hanging dead animals on the wall but still need some decorations in the shop.

I’m not sure how long the 750 sat idle but it was covered under a carport in New Mexico, a dry climate. 10,600 miles and I did put correct handlebars on minus the fairing. The side covers are off but I have them.

That's one of the nicest Triples I've ever seen.

I've been riding an XS750 Special since 1980.

Be careful... once bitten by the vintage bug the addiction is hard to beat.

Big fan of the GS. That one looks to have some work done to it, were you able to borescope camera the top of the piston and see if it's oversized?

                        Looks like a fun bike

I know the person who customized the bike and the motor is original low mile stock top end. I’m now the third owner
