  • Dim Headlight, 72' CB350, Help!!!

The head light on my 72' cb350 is dim and yellow. I do not know of any problems with the electrical system and it keeps the battery charged and the starter works well. I need to know what to check or replace to fix this problem. Any help let me know!!!

    Dim headlight

Hey Dan Had 3 of those 350's ,great bikes but crappy headlite . Seems they had a tin reflector and a 35/50 bulb?? Long time ago. The light just seems to dim with age. Replaced one with a glass sealed beam with great results. bkr

The CB350 had a split charging coil and it was activcated when the lights are turned on. Splice the yellow and white wires tohether in the headlight shell and it will give you full charging all the time.

The problem comes from a worn headlight switch that doesn't connect in the full power charging coil.

The yellow wire connects to the rectifier and then continues up to the headlight shell where it meets up with the headlight switch wires. The white wire is routed directly to here from the stator. When you unplug these 2 wires from the headlight switch, you should be able to connect them together. For Honda 305s I used to make a short jumper wire then sealed it all up with heat shrink tubing.

It's been a long while since I did any hands on work on a Honda 350 but as I recall they had bullet connectors on the wires and it may be posible to just plug the yellow and white wires together.
