    Venture 2nd gear problem

    A friend from work has an '84 Yamaha Venture with the typical Yamaha 2nd gear problem. Anyone familiar with this model? It's a water cooled V4. Can the repair be done "in-frame" like the XS, or does the motor have to be pulled on this one?

    I've told him to get on the Venture group but he's a computer illiterate so I'm probably going to do the leg work for him.

    I'm pretty sure that the engine needs to be removed and the cases split for the transmission work.

        Thanks!! I was looking for the Venture site, but under Yahoo. Now I know why I couldn't find it!! I'll pass this along, I'm sure it will help him a lot.

          Found a venture forum once. Seem to have all the answers there.
