Post some pics and check the web. The prices seem to go up for such hondas.

I had a 1980 750k. They are a good bike. you can't hardly kill them. They are easy to work on but are also stubburn as a mule and cold blooded. Ya want to make sure you keep those valves adjusted. I think the book says something like every 2500 mile or so. I'd play it by ear. when they start rattleing a little then it's time. Valve are pretty expensive for the 750k motor, let alone the time and effort it will take to do the work. Happy trails.

I have a 79 750K, I could be wrong but I think this was the first year that they went to a DOHC, 78 and earlier I think they called the sandcast and these are really popular with the chop and drop crowd. I think you have parts interchangeability back to about 69. There are a handful of websites and forums for these so take a look, you will find tons of information on keeping the machines running.

my 750 is at my parent house, left it there years ago when I got married. I did pick up a 1980 750C head as spare parts and keep thinking I'll sneak it over and start another project.

If you have the DOHC you have a lot of similair looking things as the XS1100, and the 750 pulls pretty hard as well. The bad news is there isn't as many fans of this design. Honda had the F the C and K in the 750cc, and then they launched the 900cc based on the same block. IMHO, the result was too many variations with too few units to get the kind of commitment from the riders they needed.

Good luck with the bike, either version can be fun to ride.
I have a bike and I am not afraid to use it

          79 Honda SS

1979 was the 1st year for the DOHC 750 Honda. I bought one new and sold it a year later, it was quick and reliable but had this weird resonating tone that came from the frame or fuel tank or something, drove me nuts trying to stop it, but I broke even selling it anyway..... there was a 78 SS 750 Honda for sale brand new sitting beside the 79 thats the bike I should have bought. At that time I wasnt looking at Yamahas as a contender.
