Honda XR 350 fading gas tank

    Hey guys-
I have an An old honda XR 350 that I would like to resotre and ride. One of my first steps is going to be the plastic. The bike is the orange color honda used for a number of years the front and back fenders are so scratched and faded I'm just going to replace them, but the gas tank is still in good condition but it has this wierd yellowing effect going on. The yellowing parts of the gas tanks also have a rough texture does anyone know how to remove this? Or even what caused it.

The clear coat is breaking down. It's possible that it could be lightly sanded and a fresh clear coat applied but you really need to talk to a painting professional about this.
