  • Yam 1970 175 enduro parts?

I've ridden the poo out of this bike and I'm looking to rebuild the engine. I'm afraid that the cylinder is egg-shaped, and I might have to bore it out. Does anyone know a good place to get parts. I'm having some trouble finding anything besides rings. Thanks!

A good, reputable machine shop should be able to look at your motor and tell you if it's machineable. If you are able to have it bored, don't order any pistons or rings until the machining is done or at least close to being done. The machine shop may be able to give you the measurements that you will need before any machining takes place. This is common practice with car engines. If they can't, then I'd look for a shop that will. Might take more time but It'll be right

Oh !!! I forgot to add, the machine shop may know where to obtain good high performance parts in the measurements that you will need.

Yeah, I was trying to get a jump on my options, but it's a step by step process. I found a place to get pistons if I need em. Hopefully the cylinder isn't ruined, cause they only carry small overbores, not big bores. Thanks.

          Big Pistons

If you need a large over bore check out Wiesco. They may have large overbore for your make/model.

My 1975 DT400b has been a real trooper but kinda getting worn out. Wisco makes up to a .60over for most enduros. I also have been able to score complete cylinders from junk yards. The last one I bought for $40 looked like it might have had 2k on it. You have to just hunt parts for em. I have found it easier to find parts for my old Yamahas than my 1970 Super Rat.
