Good Morning. Was going to leave on a trip this morning with my XJ1100 and my brother on his 1971 cb Honda 750 with only 12,000 mile on it. Well anyway he called last night says the bike had been setting for a couple of weeks without starting it and now it has a backfire on either #1 or # 3. We checked the bowl in # 3 and it had no gas in it and quite a bit of dirt in the bottom of the bowl. We got the gas going back into it and now it back fires when you rev it up. Any suggestions. Someone said it might be the condensor. If the condensor was bad wouldn't it backfire all the time? We did look at the condensor and the one side as a lot of spark but the other one you can see a small arc and it does not open up like the other one does. Maybe thats the way they work I don't know. Help we would still like to make our trip today if possible.
