  • Gonna part it out

Well, After all considerations of keeping, selling as a whole or parting out, I've decided to part out the "project bike".
I went in on a 82 Honda cb650 custom with a guy. Our deal was that he buy the bike and I would make it go and stop. Well I did. It goes very well and stops just as well. He hasn't done any thing with the title,( still titled, but signed over two times.). I'm getting tired of it sitting in my garage ( two months ) waiting on him to do the title thing so Away it goes. The reason for this post is to let you guy's know that I'm selling this in pieces and if you need any pieces off of this bike, PM me before I list this stuff on Ebay. I'll be listing on Sunday the 25th around noon central time. After that, It's up to Ebay and will no longer be available through private dealings.

Well. Figureing that you are two to three states over. ( depends on your routing to pick it up. ) and the parts that I have yet to get for it, I'd let er go as a whole ( parts ) $400.00, Parts needed.
      Float bowl gaskets,
Either/or rejeting/ baffle for exaust. ( 4 into 1 with no baffle. Sounds cool but LOUD.
It's got a vetter headlight in place of an original( found originals on Ebay between 10-30 bucks.
      Front blinkers and mounts.
      Horn. (wires good horn bad
      Alot of riding.
      Stuff I've done.
Pulled the carbs and cleaned the grime out. reset ajusted and syncronized.
Pulled petcock, and cleaned out also cleaned out fuel tank.
cleaned all the oil off the front rotors and brakes.
      remounted the front brake calipers.
replaced the clutch cable and clutch cable perch and adjusted.
drilled and tapped out all of the many bolts that were broken off of the fender and seat mounts.
unseazed up the mirror lockdown nuts.
      Replaced the battery.
I'll post a pic in a few minutes.

Bike looks nice! Would be a shame to part it out. Somewhhere someone should preserve it for future rides...

I have a '80 cb650. Nice bike. I'm missing the Honda nameplate thats on the forks. Might be interested in that if you part it out.

Shame it's so far away from me! I'd love to rescue it and give it a good home. The Honda fours have always been a favorite of mine...

I started to strip it down. Got most of the dash off and said to myself," dam, ya put a little into this thing to make it go and stop, Can't do it " , Put her back together and stashed it in the corner of the garage. Gonna get the title and buy out the interest from the other 1/2 owner. This will be ( eventually ) a little, fun riding bar hopper. Won't be very good for any long distance rides, but It'll sure be a fun sort rider.

It would make great 'Training Wheels' for somebody's SWMBO.

Oh thank you, thank you! You saved a bike! Hopefully when you get done having fun with it, you can pass it onto someone else that will have equally as much fun!

BTW, is that a "TravelCade" seat? It looks like mine kinda, especially the tag on the back...well, that could say "Kev, you goof!" for all I know

Ya, I know, I used to ride an 82 Honda 650 nighthawk I bought in 84, Back and forth from Pheonix Az. to Northern Ca. where I'm from. It made the trip pretty good but nothin like the XS.
