The 850's fuel problems seemed to be petcock related, and now that I leave the petcock set to Reserve, there is no more fuel leak.
The 850's electrical problems seemed to center on its faulty fuse-box wiring. Now with a new headlight fuse wiring work around and a new bulb, it seems great.
Now I have picked up a 1982 XS650XJ Herritage Special which appears to be leaking oil from around the head gasket. The timing covers also appear to have been taken off in the past and some red gasket material is visible around the edges. The bike runs well and the leak is slight; never the less I would like to understand about the oil passages around there. Any clues?
On a related note, are we allowed to post scans of users manuals etc on this site?
