  • Broken windscreen- parts?

I have a SPIRIT windscreen on my XS1100SG. One of the stantions (sp) or rods that goes from the handle bar up towards the top of the screen broke off at the lower mount. Do any of you folks know where I can source a new one fast? I'm riding daily.

    Have it welded.

Yes,,, welding is the fastest and the cheapest way to go. Save a coule more bucks and pull the brace off yourself. That way you can also paint it the color you want before remounting it.

        Windshield Frame

Get a piece of steel rod, same diameter and bend up a new one. If needing repair right now!, get a bit of steel tubing with the same inside diameter as the outside of the broken piece and make up a splint in the mean time.

I have a couple of windshield mounts here, but no idea what make/model they came from. Can you send me pics of yours? If they are the same, you can have these for the cost of shipping.

            Windshield Bracket

Marty, you can always pull the windshield off and run the bike "naked" until you find a replacement.

The broken rod is aluminum. It rains a lot here right now, so I prefer to run with the windshield. I'll probably have to take it to a professional welder if I can't find replacement parts. I'll have to do some extensive web surfing. I'm sure it's here some place.
