Happened to a friend on a CBR600... 2400 km or so.
Got a new engine.
If you cant post on that forum, let the poor bastard know that he definetly requests or wants a new bike or at least a new engine. Coz those shavings DO NOT come out.
Also oil pump needs to be changed.

Yeah Strom. Actually, do these spaceships even have steel parts in them. ha - ha. Sh**, I'd love a ride on one. Rather, every few months, motors get smaller, lighter and gruntier. At this rate a 2009 motor's gonna be REAL scary.Comment

I'm waiting for a friend to bring an old kawa back to life.... a 78 Z900. Had a top speed over 300 kmh (180mph) in the early 80s, pulled wheelies at 200+ (kmh, bout 120mph) with a bit of throttle.... LOL... not THATs scary.
OK, it's a race bike he raced back then, but 2 kids and a wife.... so he did the sensible thing... parked it in the back of the garage, and it's been sitting there since.
On the upside... it has P&M frame, bored to 1000 or 1100 ccm, all the race guts... XSellent for scaring plastic missile crowd now. All I gotta do is get him to get the bike in working order and take it for a test ride.... to confirm the info.
