  • Zuki, plug wire B12 first gen

Looks like the PO jerry rigged a plug wire on number one cyl, and the pipe there isnt getting hot at idle. Ive taken the wire off, plugged it into a spark plug outside and started the engine, and it fires the plug when the engine is started. I am getting a lot of popping , backfiring when started up and idling. The wire is obviously in poor shape, its been cut off a few inches short, and apparently an auto plug wire has been attached. Is there a way to properly hook these wires together, can you solder them or what? Any info on what others have done in this circumstance is appreciated.
