  • Winter hack

    Just got a cheap winter bike so I can rest the xs from the rain, a tdm 850, for 900 GBP, goes well and handles good, anyone else have experience of these.?

    they are good bikes,no first hand experience with them though

        TDM850 in photo. 900 Great Britain Pounds = $1354

        I've ridden that bike a couple of times and I quite like it.

            Tom,

            The TDM 850 was an offshoot of Yamaha's own 750 Super Ténéré, and was one of the early so-called "ADVENTURE" bikes.

            It has a DOHC, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with more valves in 2 cylinders than our XS11 has in 4 cylinders (the TDM has 5 valves per cylinder).

            Yamaha only brought the 850 to U.S. shores for 2 years (1992-93), but it lived on in Europe, eventually becoming the TDM 900.

              Wow I really like it.Lets check around and see if we can find one for sale around here.!!!

                    how is it that all the kids across the pond get all the kool toys???

                    i'm still waiting for the xt660 here in the states...

                    silly EPA....
                    1979 XS1100SF Special.78 E motor/carbs, Jardine 4-2 exhaust, XS Green coils, Corbin seat, S.S. Brake lines, Hard cases, Heated grips.

                    2012 FJR1300 Gen 2. Heli bar risers, R-gaza crash bars, mccruise cruise control.

                    (2)2008 WR250R. Because kids outgrew others.

                    2007 Suzuki V-Strom 1000. (Just added 2024) pre-crashed.

                    1975 Kawasaki S1 250. My first bike. Still have it. NO I'm not selling it!!

                    Most bike problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars and the seat!!

                      We had the TDM over here for two years. For all I know, they're still making them for Europe. Last I knew, it was a 900.
