  • User Friendly?!?

Wife and I were at the Yammy Dealer the other day picking up some chrome goodies for her Virago.
I was talking with the owner about my desire of a V-Max. He told me to wait till next year as they should be more "user-friendly" I told him that if I was to get a V-Max then "friendly" is that last thing I'd want. He grinned and told us to follow him. In the service bay was a blown V-Max. Belt drive hanging off the left side and an air cleaner sticking up through the "gas tank".
    Definately not user-friendly.......I want one.

    very interesting ;-)
where does the belt drive hook up on a shaft drive bike ?
the air cleaner maybe, although it has to go through the air cleaner cap then some duct work then the ' gas tank' just to see the light of day
    just curious

The belt drive he was referring to was the blower drive belt, not the rear wheel drive belt.

The new V-max is supercharged? And I thought the old ones were insanely fast.

what blower? we don't have no steenkin' blower.. it's a regular carb engine but the vboost thing is electrical , it just opens up a pair of butterflies to let each cylinder draw from 2 carbs at around 6000

            blower

Iv'e seen the v-max with an actual blower on it.Was in a bike magizine.Man was that thing insane. blower belt was run off the crank just like a car.had like this monsterous rear tire also looked like it was a drag race slick or something. But this was not of coarse production, was a very cool home brewed contraption.

This is a belt-driven super-charger. The shaft drive to the rear wheel is still there. If it's still there I try to get a pic and post it. This bike is street legal (has a license plate anyway).
I hate to think of what would happen to the riders left leg and groin if the belt ever came off <shuddering>
