  • New Yamaha SR400

    Was at the dealer yesterday looking into a Bolt and saw this. Thought it was super cool how they made it look like a restored vintage bike. Kick start only. Would never buy one, but wouldn't mind tooling around on one for the day.

    I believe this bike has been in production since 1978. It has been absent from the US market since 1981.

      But it looks better with wire wheels and drilled rotors. More light and nimble in appearance.

        I had a 78 SR500.
        It was fun around town and on the levees and fire roads.

        Then upgraded to my XS11G
        1980 XS1100 Standard (G)

          I had one of these back in 1980 and loved it. Ran across my current one a couple of years ago. It is a near pristine example with 8,000 miles.



          Since this picture, I have replaced the centerstand and exhaust downpipe with NOS. It is a fun ride, just like the old days.
