  • xs750 starter button

Hi, guys. I got on my 78 xs750 yesterday, went to press the start button, and it's not there. In its place poking meekly out of the hole is a spring, where the button should be. I can still start it with the kick starter, though I'd prefer not to go that route generally.

Can I buy a new button? I don't want to replace the whole throttle for a piece that I should be able to buy for $2. Can I fabricate one (as a last resort)?

I'll also entertain discussion about how this could have happened. Shouldn't there be a clip, or lip, or something on that piece preventing it from just falling off?

    Thanks,
    Robert

      Aluminum or plastic?

Yamaha or Kawasaki Starter and Horn Buttons

This is the best place to get them.

        I'll second that

The machined buttons are cheaper that the $17 button I originally got on ebay. I'll use his stuff again if the problem crops up on my other machines.
