01' Kawasaki Vulcan 800, spark plug socket

i have a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan classic 800. It doesn't have the original tool kit and I need the spark plug socket to change the spark plugs. I can't find this socket anywhere (eBay,bike bandit,Amazon). If anyone knows where to get one please let me know.

Hi Jbird,
If you just need to change the plugs you should be able to use a regular sparkplug socket available at most automotive stores.

According to specs your bike uses a NGK CR7E spark plug which would be a 16mm (5/8") hex. Is the problem you are having is that the socket is too fat to fit down the tunnel?

The R1200RT needed a "special socket". I went to harbor freight and picked up a LONG 5/8" plug socket. I then took a grinder to the outside and thinned it down a bit so it fit into the DEEP plug wells of the BMW. It should work for your bike as well. Cheap, easy fix.

You have to check back for the answers to you question
I checked with a friend who has a Vulcan 800. Yes your plugs are down a hole.
Apparently easier if you take the tank off to get to the rear plug.
