      Venture

OK, so the Venture, not the Royal is subject to the same trans. problem we have on the 11.
      Same fix ?
What other things should I look for ?
      Thanks, Done

The Venture and the Royals had the same 2nd gear problems. The problem was fixed in the 85 to 86 year bikes. Mine I just live with it only slips out when I open the throttle hard. One thing that you may watch for is a problem with the TCI. The diodes are known to go bad. If you're good at electronics it can be fixed. A good used one can be bought for a price $200 to $300 on E-bay. An after market one (Inditec(I think that's what its called) is what I have) can be had for about $250. Clean both Master cylinders and all tree calipers and you will have a great bike.

Thanks Guys ! Seems to have the patina of an 83 but for 31 it's not bad. $1300 seem fair ?

Not bad at 100ponies. They're not quite as quick as my 1100Venturer, but a bit heavier with the additional farkles on them and water cooled. Same platform motor as the later V-Max, but not even in the same class as the 180ponies of the first gen. V-Max.

Venture has motor platform as the Gen I Vmax, but as Motoman said, tuned to around 100hp.

Gen II Vmax has the monster 180 hp/110 ft/lbs. My wife's uncle has a Gen II Vmax (2010) and it is the most ferocious accelerating vehicle I have ever sat on or in. Absolute insanity, but huge fun!

A buddy of mine had a Gen II V-Max ... I say had because he sold it 6 months after buying it! He said it was too powerful for him ...

But, he did let me ride it, and ferocious is a good way to describe the kind of acceleration this bike has!

But it goes beyond that ... I would say it is mind-numbing acceleration! And the chassis appears to be up to the task of handling that much power ...

                    Incredible machine!!
