    master cylinder screws

Quick question. I have a 79xs eleven special. Installed new calipers in front and need to add fluid to the master but the PO rounded out all the screws. I was able to drill the heads off and turn them out with vicegrips. Is there anywhere I can get just the replacement screws. Local hardware store doesn't seem to have anything similar? Help!

Then you need to find a different local hardware store! There is nothing special about the threads on those screws. Standard thread, standard size, standard taper heads....

Negative. The early master cylinder covers screw into a bushing that is molded into the reservoir. The screws are only about a centimeter long.

His signature says he has a special not a standard and the screws on those masters are of the longer variety as Glowe showed in his first post. Here is an Ebay listing for a 79 master which is the same as my 80 which takes the longer screws.

Even if they are the long screws, there still isn't anything special about them. Any hardware store with a decent selection of bolts should have then.

I bought SS screws at ACE, polished the heads, they look like chrome but as time goes by they need polish again.

                      agreed

there is nothing special about them and are readily available from a number of sites on the net. I have never looked for them as I have never had the need. I do know that home depot has a special cabinet where they keep a lot of odd ball screws and such. I may take a ride over to look what is available and report back. I live about 2 minutes from one.
