    OK, here's the deal....
There is a 78-81 suzuki GS 1000 engine. It's bored out to 1100-1300, not sure. It was tweaked for open class racing, back in 80s, never raced, since the class was cancelled just after the rebuild. But since then it ran little. Still starts and runs (wow).
Basically it was thrown in a hard tail made CB 750 frame, fork angle changed and it looks now as a rat-chopper.
The bike just sits and it's started once a year or so, just to piss off the neighbours. 4-2 no mufflers.
So a friend got an idea. Let's make a drag bike.
It has one front disc brake, that could be persuaded to work.
Carbs would get a good clean and K&Ns.
    Fresh oil, maybe filter.

So... we got a motor that put out 160 HP then, so now bout 120+ (the last time it ran it made 70 mph in 1st gear.
We got a frame that won't fall apart.
We can stop, provided there is a large field on the end of the runway.
We got a rider crazy enuff to do it.
We got two wheels, front spoke and thin, back mag rim and a too fat a tire.

What else do we have to know bout dragracing, except full throttle and hold on for dear life? 1/8th of a mile, no restrictions (maybe lack of survival instinct).

PS: The pic. Yeah, we're nuts....

If it doesn't have an engine, it's not a sport, it's only a game.

Park near a stoplight. Wait for some sucker on a 'real' bike to come along. Offer to race for pink slips. Do this only ONCE. Give the loser this one. Ride away with a smile, to post for years to come.

Whatever you do, don't ride that too many times. Luck does run out...

        drag bike

Get rid of the rear shocks, less distance on the forks(for stability)Tie down or solid front end,all those for weight transfer.gas it up and go.Then determin what else it needs as you go.
