Nice looking bike.
FWIW, for anyone posting photos here....
Photos will fit better on a page if you limit the size to 432 pixels wide by 288 pixels high at a resolution of 72 dots per inch (dpi) This works out to 6 inches wide by 4 inches high. (72dpi=1 inch.) Most graphics programs will let you set the resolution and image size before you save the photo. When you get bigger photos some folks, like me, can't see the whole photo without having to scroll left and right to see the edges, and it would be nicer to see everything at once. The smaller photos will load faster as well.
If you don't have a graphics program, you can set the size of the photo by adding WIDTH=xxx,HEIGHT=xxx (xxx = number of pixels) after the photo name extension and before the closing > in the photo link.
<img src=http://path/photo.jpg WIDTH=432,HEIGHT=288>
Drawback is that using this method can distort the photo from its original height/width proportions as it forces the photo to fit the defined space.
Advantage to setting the size this way is that it will speed up the loading of images, as the html page does not have to query the photo file to determine its size, saving time.
Sorry...now back to your regular programming.....Jerry Fields

Nice looking 'wing. My buddy has an 81 that he has been dragging all over the nation for years.
They are great bikes.
His sat for many years before he got it, and we had terrible rust in the gas tank . . . the lines are internal and had rusted. We had to cut thme out of the tank, weld it shut, and weld a new fitting in the bottom of it. We then epoxy coated it and have not had any trouble since.
The front brakes were a pain to repair too, there is a tube cross-over mounted horizontally under the steering head that makes them a real bitc . . . ur . . . pain to bleed. We replaced it with braided stainless lines that both run to the MC . . . magic! Brakes! Easy to bleed and better than before.
Good luck with it! They are great for a lot of miles!

I just sold an '88 GL1500 Goldwing after owning it for a year. There is truely nothing that handles the interstate hwy like a wing. Be advised though that while all parts are still availible for the 1500's & 1800's, they no longer make and stock many of the parts for the 1000's, 1100's & 1200's. These ealier models also are widely known to have problems with the stators going out often. To replace one you have to pull the engine! Very expensive unless you do it yourself. I belonged to the GWRRA and read the tech forum each night to learn all about the good and bad points about the verious models. Look for an early model GL1500 instead. They can be had for under $5k and will last for well over 100k miles.
