My back-up/alternate ride is the 82 Honda XL250R.
I like the stares I get from Harley riders when I wave as they pass by. Almost no one returns a wave when I'm on the dual-sport (except high shcool kids that want me to wheelie).
I had a guy on Buell jokingly (I guess) ask if I wanted to race. I pointed to the dirt field next to us and said "Sure!".
When it's parked I get a lot of "I used to have one of those".

I guess I am lucky that my backup to my 80g is a 80s. The ex girlfriend bought a 440LTD that I got running. Havent seen her in a while and I have the title, (can you put a knobby on a KZ440?)
        When a 10 isn't enough, get a 11. 80g Hardbagger

For one-up riding, this '87 GSX-R1100 has made my XS11 "the other one".

My fiancée and I also have a matched pair of Suzuki GS bikes: an '81 GS750L (hers), '80 GS850L (mine). For around town I prefer the GS handling to the XS. Maybe because it's a little smaller and lighter...

            gs

            hey bill,

since you also have a gs850l you might know. on mine right under the side covers in the v of the frame someone has mounted plastic push pull switches on both sides. the have been disconnected but for the life i can't figure out what they would have done. lights for a fairing maybe? i like the gs pretty well. i need to change the bars on mine and do a little cleaning. unfortunately since i just bought the goldwing i'm afraid its gonna get pushed even further back on the burner.

I can't think of anything they'd be for. Nothing peculiar to the GS anyway...
