i'm posting this here because i'm not going to be using them on a xs11.
i'll have a xs11/750/850 19" front rim and a 17" xs11 rear rim
I will be mounting them on warpig, 1981 xj750 Seca.
a little creativity required, i have 99% of the asselmbly figured out allready.
(it's good to have parts bikes)
My question is: was the xs1100 radial incompatibility due to the rims or the frame geometry?
i would like to load radials, because my "unique" application i have very
limited tire choices, and the greatest share are radials.
i know most of you will see my modifications as odd, last summer i did alot of
off-roading with a set of avon distanzia tires(bias ply) and my only complaint
was the tires wore down fast. might have to do with higher weight and horse power then they were ment for.
the tires i want to load on these xs11 rims are continental conti trail attack 2 dual sport tires which i believe are radials.
the main reason for my modification is money, or lack there of.
i've picked up parts bikes over the years for very little money.. and now i'm
trying to make an adventure/off-road capable machine, i was at the international bike show a few weeks ago and looked at the price tags....
14,000-24,000 with all the bells, whistles, gaurds, shields, and skid plates, cases
maybe some day a manufacture company will make a bike for me....
cast rims
shaft drive
4 cylinder (xs/xj style)
off-road ready
comfort for a 6'1"rider....
not likely...
but then would i be able to afford it??
Thanks in advance for the help/information!!
