Got my "free" XJ550 running. Trying to sync/balance carbs with it has the YCIS. Anyone know if the 1100 tool will work on the 550? Can I totaly "disarm" it? Starts ok, idles poorly but runs like a (small) rocket once you get past 3k.

I believe they are universal.
Should work if you have one.
If not you could make you one, I just used this one I made the other day on an 82 XJ650 I picked up.

The YICS tool is universal, it will fit all of the JX models that have the YICS passage. Unless you have one that was made before 4/1/2009, the early Eliminators were bike specific.
