        Hey Prisoner6 you have a 1979 CBX?
That is pretty sweet how does it run?
My engine builder has a local guy to him that has 3 of them.

That JMC Racing Swingarm came off of one of them.
That's how I knew it would fit without a lot of changes.

I'm a fan of the Honda CBX, Chris. This is actually the 2nd one I've owned. Should never have sold the 1st one!

I've had the current one almost 13 years, and still get a big grin on my face every time I see it sitting in the garage ...

Since I bought my '79SF last year, almost all of my riding time has been spent on the Eleven ... and I am enjoying it so much!

But to answer your question, the CBX runs great! Very smooth, and there's nothing like the sound of that big 6's exhaust when the engine

is in the sweet spot of the powerband ...

            Prisoner6,
Wanted to tell that when i was at Barber's Motorsport Park they have a custom built CBX that has been modified similar to mine.
This is one damn sexy bike and is what inspired me to go the way I did.

One day I was in the down stairs area for museum members and I hear a bike crank up and I go running out there and it is this custom CBX with a 6 into 6 exhaust.
I don't believe I have ever heard a sexier rumble to a bike in my life.

They have all of the nuts and bolts anodized red and blue.

Well after a quick and way too short vacation in sunny Orlando Florida we got back on Monday and had snow flurries on Tuesday.

But this was waiting for me at the office on Tuesday so I am happy anyway.

Chris, here is a meticulously-built Honda CBX cafe racer that I thought you might enjoy ...

Great pics and a really good article about the build ... the attention to detail is amazing ... I love the white frame!

Hey Prisoner6 here are a couple of pictures of the CBX from Barber's Museum. Now this bike has been built as a full on racing bike with all modern front and rear components like what I am doing.

By the way they have the bikes stacked pretty close together so it was hard to get good pictures so I went for detail.

That front fender is similar to what I will have on the front of mine.

Sold the CR31's to someone that has a stock CB900F.

This bike is amazing. But where on earth is that tank from??? And is it ONLY carbon fiber? Or laid over fiberglass or something else??? Gorgeous build!

Thanks I am very proud of it. It has been a labor of love.

The tank and seat are fiberglass and have been Hydro Graphic dipped. But a lot of the new pieces are 100% carbon fiber. Like the new front fender and the rear hugger.

But with going from the old Comstar wheels which weigh about 30-40 pounds each. The new GSXR wheels might weigh 7-10 pounds each. The rear swingarm is all aluminum and weighs almost nothing but with all of the extra support it will help with the handling.

So once finished I hope to weigh the bike and see how close to 300 pounds it is now. So hopefully it will be some where around 85 to 90 HP to the rear wheel on a 300 pound bike.

Wow that's great. What a cool project. I'm impressed with the hydro dip! You'd never know in the pictures! I'm debating wether or not I want to go CF crazy on my project. I was considering getting all the vacuum pumps and stuff and trying my hand at laying out my own CF parts. We'll see

Yeah the water graphics are very cool and they can also do the carbon fiber or any others in almost any color.

I hope to have it done in time for a cafe bike show in Nashville TN in May. My engine builder wants to go up with me. He has a lot of time and effort in this bike also.

I have lost a couple of my favorite motorcycle shops locally in the last few years so when my engine guy was looking to add a mechanic and wanted to keep him busy over the winter I had them do some of the stuff I could have done at home but I want to keep them around mainly because they are awesome. I am tired of only having the dealers to go to.

We also had to remove some of the powder coating on the frame so we could weld an extension on the front for a steering stop and also for mounting the steering damper in the Suzuki stock front end location.

So I drive there and do some design work and help with some of the work and talk motorcycles all day on Saturdays.

                                But she is mighty purty.
