    1300

    I rode a hundred miles or so alongside a 1300. Big kid on it.
    I noticed he faded when we got to around 180 to 190 KPH.
    He said he was getting too much turbulence and did not want to go any faster.
    That is faster than I can go on Yami, and good speed for a cruiser, but not fast for a modern sport bike. I was on Bluzu my Suzuki. The local cops have two of the 1100's. They all seem like nice cruisers to me.

    I agree that latest model, like many of the new bikes, is a bit ugly.

      Pricey

      If I'm going to spend that kind of money and I can't long distance anymore, VMax is what I'd put my money in. I'm bartering for a 2014 right now. I'll be selling some very nice 11's soon.

        180kph = 111 mph
        The STs' are about comfort reliability long distance from tank to tank not about top speed or how sharp they handle or how quick you can flick it into a corner...
        The STs' are known to do everything well but no one thing exceptionally...that makes them the well balanced Sport-touring machines that they are...

          As for this new Honda...it isnt intended to be the replacement for the ST1300 Alot of folks on the Honda bandwagon have been clamoring for Honda to update their ST1300. All the other manufactures have but Honda has steadfastly remained stuck in its 11 year old design...
          So this CTX1300 with the ST1300 engine is the 1st new bike with this engine since 2003...and while it isnt that bad(the more i look at it the better it looks)it still isnt what I'd be looking for in a motorcycle...I'd still be interested in a test ride though...

            That 111mph is gettin' close to the 8K rev limiter.........in fourth gear on the ST1100.
            81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

              I did not know how fast some of these new big cruisers would go. However they are going faster than the early naked bikes like the CB750 and many others.
              To comfortably run at over 100mph is quite impressive.
              Being on Bluzu I was able to find out just how fast they would run, and that is faster than I go on Yami.

              We were actually following a Camaro running at 180kph. Bluzu still pulls strong at 220kph or more, and he runs dead straight, with no buffeting, wandering or anything. And he will stop in a heart beat.
