  • removing lock cylinder from gas cap

    Good day gents,
Im currently replacing a gas cap on a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 800.
I have the old gas cap apart but cannot manage to get the lock cylinder out. And this is needed for the new gas cap.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Jbird427

Pictures help so it is easier for us.

Most locks are held in by a couple screws, or there is a single nut that surrounds the lock altogether.

Often times if your down to just the cylinder being held in, it is a tab at the end of the cylinder that needs to be pushed in to let it slide out. It is also much easier with the key in the lock cylinder.
