  • XS750 Special - Left Control: Headlight Beam Switch Fix?

I'm hi-beam stays, regardless of where the switch is positioned.

Anyone experience this and find it repairable, or am I better off finding a replacement?

I haven't opened it up yet, but I figured asking about it first couldn't hurt.

    Thanks,
    Ian

      Hi Ian,
sure it's not the low beam burned out and the safety thing auto-switching back to the hi beam?
Anyway, yes they are fixable but they are fiddly to work on with the signals & horn controls being in there too.
Could be as simple as washing 30 years worth of crud out of there.

Agreed, check the bulb. There is something called the reserve lighting unit which would cause the symptom Fred described. If you go into the switch unit, be very careful. The high low switch isn't very hard to break off.
