  • this is becoming a problem. I got another one

picked up a 78 xs750 special today for 200. it looks to be all there with the controls taken off of it. Looks like it was stored outside for a long time. The carbs look usable and came with new rebuild kits with all the ugly that the bike is the inside of the tank is spotless and a brand new back tire.

At first the bike wouldnt kick over like the engine was froze. then I put it in fifth gear with some oil in the cyl and some light rocking it came loose easily and now it will kick over. Thoughts cross my mind to see if it will run but i really dont need another project. lol. I cant even get my xs11 done.

    Somebody help!!! lol.

I have a 77xs 750, they are cool bikes. Just keep it and do one at a time. I should take that advice cause I am always working on both of mine.

One solution to your 'problem' is to get rid of the truck. Then it'll be harder to get a new project home and you may be a little less likely to get another one.

Seriously, at least you've got two 750's so you can put the parts together and get one of them up and running.
What's left to do on your 11?

That's the problem I have, I keep stealing parts of my 750 for my 1100. I stole rear master cylinder, caliper and now the shocks.

Very nice!! Call it nostalgia, but since my first bike ever was a 78 XS750D I still would like to get one to bring back to life. Call it Karma as I ended up dropping my first one at the grave yard for a clutch cover to an 81 CB750C. I need to redeem myself for my ignorance.

                  Hi CP,
the carb kits in your new purchase does give you an opportunity to play fairy godmother.
