Well as some of you may know I got my old kz back. The numbers checked out ok so i figured that I would start the process of getting it back on the road.
Nightingale mentioned Cycle Specialist as a place to get my carbs redone. I dropped the carbs off last week and got the call that they were done yesterday.
I picked them up today, It was 380 for all that they did. larry mcbride said it should have been more normally cause they were really bad. really dirty. The floats were bent to hell and they were so far out of sink that that he was shocked that is ran at all. the fuel valves were all bad and replaced. ultrasonic cleaned and whatever else he did.
When I dropped them off he told me that they would be install and go. The most I would have to do is adjust the idle. He was right! I put them on and hooked up the fuel, choked it and it started right up and the dead cylinder that I had warmed up instantly! There is still a little tuning needed but that is more of a timing issue I think but he told me once i get the bike together and he will adjust the carbs and make any adjustments if needed.
I would definitely recommend them.
I had these carbs sent off and re done by redline cycles in IL about a year and a half ago and he charged me 500 and they came back half assed but thats another story. I would never do business with redline again.
