    i need to fix an oil leak thats in between the cases on the bottom of the engine. anyone have any bright ideas on how to fix it? i would like to avoid splitting the cases...
    1979 xs special, just finished the top end rebuild and then i still have lots of work.

    Easy method (i.e. not splitting cases):

    Drain oil out of engine, steam clean/ degrease bottom side. Marine weld along crack. Allow 24 hrs to cure, then paint over silver and turn bike over and refill oil.

    We used methods like this on shady used car lots to seal block cracks. There wont be pressure on your leak so it should stay dry.

        Yup thats the stuff.

        I think back then it was a separate company, but now they own it or have their own. I remember it was bright blue.
