re:750/850
Hi ya ,, Ok , yesterday for some reason I couldn't get back in , the page wouldn't load ,, so I went to google and it just seems like theres more possible frames than I would have expected , seems like the frame I bought being a 77 is much different than the rest of the frames (78-81) , The primary problems are ( 1 ,, the way the motor mounts are set up on the 77 , and (2 ,, there is no good way ta attach my foot pegs to the frame without buying a bunch of 77 parts !!! , I'm seeing this as a tempary set back. Probly gonna give him back his frame. Funny thing is , is it seems like the 78 frame is also more heavy duty than the 77 ,,, were there frame problems with the 77 models I wounder ? ,, All of this because someone didn't do the title work correctly ,, so sad !!!
1977,and early 1978 frame :

1978 frame like mine :
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=1978+...20001220703125
notice when you compare the 2 the first , look at the front motor mount holes and brackets ,, and back by the swing arm the 2 studs to hold the foot pegs,,
then look at the second 1 and see the difference , I think the motor mount bothers me the most ! ,, Bruce79XS1100 for sale;

I completely apologize Bruce if I led you astray. I own three 750's, and they are all E's. I know going from the 2D to the E, there were many modifications (TCI, cams, etc.), but did not know frame was changed. Join the triples forum and search your , question.1979 XS1100F

I used a 77 tci box on my 80 xs850 so that should also be interchangable.1979 XS1100 Special. Nicely modified.

I see quite a few around here and I like them. There was one for sale for $450 a while back and I started to go look at it but didn't. I asked my wife if she would like to ride better with a sidecar and she said no. So, I guess i'll leave it stock.Jeff
