  • The Candyman's Ride - A Motorsickle Named Devilina

So I went to this little bike show last summer...

After a long ride and a nice nap...

...I woke and started talkin' to the freaks around me...

And I heard whispered stories of a fabled machine. Supposedly, it resided in a grove of trees on the far side of the lake and under the watchful eye of a biker with a white beard. Off I went to see this bike called Devilina - a she-devil fer sure!.

I made my way through the crowd...

This guy told me of the monsters that I would encounter on my quest...

On the way, I saw a few sights. Buddha nature is a dog...

    What the hell???

I nearly lost my way at Insane Chrome Alley...

Never will I forget the beautiful sirens that tried to stay me from my mission...

At last, there it was in all it's molded, old-timey chopper goodness..

I snuck up from behind, past the ancient, dry-rotted slick...

The old machine stood here as a testament to the power of a bota bag fulla Boone's Farm and some 'Lumbo Gold rolled up in a Zig Zag. The sugar cubes weren't bad either...

Just lookin' at this old chopper, I got a feeling of the kind of man that would build and ride a motorsickle like this. He musta been a swaggering bad-ass, the kinda man that people stepped aside for when he walked down the street. Ya know, the kinda dude that women want and men wanna be like. A real high-toned sum-a-bitch.

The Candyman sure knew how to build a crazy motorbike...

But he wasn't a very good speller...

        The Candyman sure had style...

And he left behind a helluva bike. I can only imagine how, perhaps in a dusty barn, the Candyman's Ride survived all the fashion changes untouched. It musta slumbered peacefully for several decades before a respectful modern-day biker woke it up and dragged it out into the sunlight.

If ya listen closely, you can still hear the maniacal sound of his laughter barely heard over straight pipes, as he tosses handfuls of candy over his shoulder while passing the schoolyards of yesterday...

This was just a bit of sweet SoCal sunshine, wrapped up in pics and words for your wintertime reading pleasure. Life is short and brutal. Ride hard mofos!

        See ya on the road...

Reminded me of my 15 YO son's pics form a hiking excursion. For some reason, alot of his pictures of the local scenery, all had some cute girls back side in them. I noted a continuing theme to yours. Yes, So-Cal nature is very welcoming when most of the folks around here are dressed like Quinn the Eskimo.

With everything else there to look at and focus on and you saw the motor in that much detail, you really need to get out more!!
